October Update:

Calling all women of Holy Cross aged 18 and over!!! Our church will be hosting the LWML Zone Rally Saturday, October 27th from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.  We would love to have a great turnout of our ladies to help us welcome our Sisters in Christ from around the area. We are planning a wonderful day of fellowship and Christian growth and fun.  Our theme is “Being Connected – to God and Each Other” presented by our own Debbie Fick. There will also be opportunities for getting to know each other and sharing ideas of what has worked well for each of our congregations in terms of membership development, mission outreaches, and fundraising.  Please RSVP to Val Feick at wfeick@embarqmail.com or – if need be – call her at (919) 359-9586 and be sure and tell her you are from Holy Cross. The cost is $6 per person which includes a continental breakfast and a salad luncheon. On October 14th we will be holding our General Meeting at 10 a.m.  We know this timing is a conflict with adult Sunday School classes, but hope doing it this way will bring our early and late service ladies together.  We have one piece of business to conduct – electing some of our officers for the upcoming two years.  Other than that we plan to have an activity to help us get to know each other better and hope to have a short presentation on an interesting program available to us.   In terms of future events, it is not too early to start thinking about what special holiday cookies or candies you want to make for our Annual Cookie Walk and Craft Fair!  We need all ladies of the church to bake one variety of cookie or candy so that we have a lot to offer our congregation members and the public. The event is scheduled for Saturday, December 1st, so put that date aside to shop for cookies and crafts. Start talking it up among your friends and neighbors. This is the major fundraiser for our organization and allows us to fund many different mission projects within the church and our community.   Enjoy the blessings of this fall season, Judy Hoffman, Meetings Chair
