Special Voters’ Meeting

Dear Family:

A special voters’ meeting will take place at the church on Saturday, August 25, at 6:00pm to approve a construction bid for the expansion of our church building.  We are nearing the halfway point of our 3-year “Building To Serve” capital campaign and the building committee believes we have a bid that is within our budget.

Attached below is a brief description of everything that has happened in the planning process over the past two years, along with information about the construction company and some of the costs.  If you have any questions before the meeting please contact one of our building co-chairs: Dennis Reese at dnereese@nc.rr.com or Scott Dull at fscottdull@msn.com.  Desserts will be served at the meeting!

God’s Blessings,
Pastor Bill

Phil Lee Called Home

Dear Family:

Phil Lee, who usually attended our late service with his wife, Margaret, was suddenly called home Friday to live with Jesus in His heavenly kingdom. There will be a visitation and viewing at the church on Monday, August 20, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm; and a memorial service to celebrate his life on Tuesday, August 21, at 11:00 am. Everyone is invited to attend.

Please keep Margaret and her family in your prayers, and I invite you to pray the following prayer with me:

Heavenly Father, we give thanks for all the mercies You granted to Phil during his earthly life, especially for calling him to faith in Jesus. Comfort his family and friends as they mourn his death with the hope of the glorious resurrection and a happy reunion in heaven. Amen.

In God’s Service,

Pastor Bill

Rebekah’s Installation this Sunday

Dear Family,

This Sunday, June 17, at both worship services we will be installing Rebekah Bajwa as our Director of Family Ministry.  This will be a very special day for our congregation as we welcome Rebekah and her husband, Wick, to our church family.  There will be a reception for Rebekah between services at 10:00am.  If you are going to be in town, I strongly encourage you to attend worship this Sunday in order to welcome and support Rebekah in her ministry with us.  We praise God for sending Rebekah to our ministry staff and we pray God’s blessings on her as she takes on this important role as our Director of Family Ministry.  I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Memorial Service for Dale Derflinger, Sr.

Dear Family:

It is with great sadness that I share with you the news that Dale Derflinger, Sr., died suddenly last Sunday.  His memorial service will take place this Saturday, May 19, at 11:00am at the church.  Everyone is invited to attend.  Please keep his wife, Kelly; his son, Dale, Jr., who will be confirmed in a few weeks; and his mother-in-law, Yvonne Chrisikos, in your prayers during this difficult time.  I encourage you to join with me in praying the following prayer:

Merciful Father, Your will and plans for our lives are beyond our understanding.  Please comfort Kelly, Dale, Jr., Yvonne, and all family members whose hearts are heavy with sorrow and grief, and lead them to look to you for confidence and strength as they face the future.  Sustain them with your presence and fill them with your love.  In the name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray.  Amen.

In God’s Service,
Pastor Bill
