Pastor Bill accepted the call to serve as the Mission Developer for a new Lutheran Church in Clayton in October, 2000. The church officially chartered in October 2001 and Pastor Bill continues to serve as the Senior Pastor of Holy Cross.  Pastor Bill is a 1987 graduate of Virginia Military Institute, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army Signal Corps. He worked for a year as a personal assistant to United States Senator Paul Trible in Washington, DC and then served four years on active duty, three of them in Germany, as an Army communication officer.
In 1992 Pastor Bill left active duty, joined the Army reserve as a chaplain, and enrolled at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, where he earned his Master of Divinity degree in 1996.  He served as the pastor of All Saints Lutheran Church in Charlotte, North Carolina from 1996-2000.  Pastor Bill retired from the Army reserve in 2005.  He and his wife, Sue, have one daughter, Sarah.
 
Rebekah Bajwa, Director of Family Ministry (email: rebekah.bajwa@holycrossclayton.com)
Rebekah grew up in California and attended college at Concordia University, Seward, Nebraska. In 2009 she completed the Director of Christian Education program and did her internship at Fountain of Life Lutheran Church in Kernersville, NC. In 2010 Fountain of Life called her to be their Director of Children’s and Youth Ministries, where she served until 2017. 
 
Rebekah and her husband, Wick, currently live in Durham with their puppy, Nuvo. Rebekah loves baseball, kickball, working out at the gym, playing board games, and spending time with family and friends. God has blessed Rebekah with a heart for Family Ministry, and the patience and compassion to socialize with children, youth, and adults. She wants to instill a love of learning about Jesus in people of all ages and provide them the tools they need to cultivate their faith. 
 
 
Sarah Elliott, Administrative Assistant (email: Sarah.Elliott@holycrossclayton.com)
Sarah was born and raised in the Adirondack’s area of upstate New York. While in NY she attended Adirondack Community College for Business Administration prior to entering the medical field & working in the hospital pathology lab and then medical billing and administration.  She moved to North Carolina in 2007 and continued working in medical administration until November 2016 when she became an office manager for a local radio station before finally calling Holy Cross her work home in 2020. Sarah lives in the Cleveland area of Clayton with her husband Chris, and their two daughters, Alexis & Rylee.  Sarah enjoys helping others, especially children and those less fortunate and is the coordinator for the food pantry at her church in Clayton.
